We are currently hiring an Optometry Team Manager for our In-School Colorado Springs services.
We are looking for an outgoing team leader who is passionate about their community and can work well with children. We are looking for a candidate with management experience, preferably in an Optometry or a medical office.
**Team management experience is required for the position**
Optometry Technician Manager position:
Eye Love Care provides full eye exams and glasses for students at various School facilities in the Colorado Springs region as well as nearby mountain communities.
This position primarily follows the school-year schedule, with time off during school breaks. During summer break, team members will make “Glasses Wellness Check” calls to patients who received glasses.
Managers are required to participate in additional training and professional development during the summer months.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of optometry technicians to include scheduling, daily flow, training, addressing behavioral or attendance concerns, documentation and performance reviews.
- Hiring team members in conjunction with operations manager.
- Candidate must be adaptable to new training and changing Eye Love Care standards as the company evolves.
- Patient Administration: Determine insurance eligibility, verify benefits, and support billing with a clear understanding of eyewear services and insurance coverage for exams and eyewear.
- Overseeing patient scheduling.
- Entering patient demographics and medical history into the electronic medical record.
- Communicating efficiently and professionally with school nurses/administrators, facility managers, operations manager, moving manager and event coordinator.
- Eyeglass ordering from eyeglass laboratory.
- Working with Optomap imaging.
- Performing as an Optometry technician and rotating positions within the team when necessary.
- Working closely with doctors and operations management.
- Travel Requirements: This position requires travel to different schools and facilities throughout the Colorado Springs area as scheduled. Each school or facility event typically lasts two to three days.
- Daily preparation of patient information and set up for the next day's event.
- Position hours are typically Monday-Friday. Start and end times will vary potentially within the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, depending on school schedules and work to be completed. (As a salaried employee there will be times that you will need to work later.)
- Packing and unpacking equipment for each multi-day event.
- Candidates must be willing and able to work with all ages to include children.
- Calling guardians of patients to check on glasses. "Glasses Wellness Checks," this takes place at the end of the school year and possibly during Spring Break.
- Flexibility and adaptability are needed for this position due to the mobile nature of each event.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical or optometry office setting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in team management or leadership roles.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient care practices.
- Candidates for this position must be highly organized team players.
- Candidates must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to legally work in the U.S.
- Bilingual Spanish.
