Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Art & Theater Teacher who believes that the arts help students discover their God-given talents, develop confidence, and express themselves with imagination and purpose.
The ideal candidate will create a vibrant, engaging classroom where students in Preschool through Grade 8 explore artistic techniques, participate in creative expression, and experience the excitement of theater through performances and productions.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach engaging visual arts lessons for students in Preschool through Grade 8.
- Introduce students to a variety of artistic media, techniques, artists, and styles.
- Foster creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and self-expression in a supportive classroom environment.
- Develop and direct school theater productions, plays, performances, and special presentations throughout the school year.
- Teach basic acting, stage movement, voice projection, and theater etiquette.
- Coordinate auditions, rehearsals, costumes, props, scenery, and backstage organization.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate art and theater into cross-curricular projects and school events.
- Display student artwork throughout the school and assist with art shows or exhibitions.
- Encourage participation from students of all ability levels while building confidence and teamwork.
- Maintain classroom materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school administration.
- Support and uphold the mission and values of Catholic education.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Theater, Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching children in an elementary or middle school setting preferred.
- Experience directing theatrical productions is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire students through creativity, encouragement, and positive relationships.

Pay: From $41,349.61 per year
