Job Summary
Our client, a long-standing and leading specialty commercial flooring contractor, is seeking a Working Foreman to support floor installations across a variety of project sites in the Baltimore metro area. This role is ideal for hands-on installers ready to take ownership of job site execution, crew coordination, and quality control. Must have epoxy flooring or epoxy painting experience to be considered for this role.
Duties
- Lead and manage a small crew.
- Coordinate day-to-day onsite activities with customers and/or general contractors.
- Manage installation schedule, workmanship quality, and production flow.
- Ensure installations meet required specifications, standards, and safety protocols.
- Serve as the primary onsite point of accountability for the project.
- Prepare floor surfaces prior to installation using shot-blast equipment, hand scraping tools, grinders, sanders, and vacuums.
- Protect work areas with tape, paper, or plastic; install termination strips as required.
- Mobilize materials and equipment to job sites using pallet jacks and proper lifting techniques.
- Mix multi-component flooring systems, including liquid resins, liquid hardeners, and aggregates.
- Apply liquid flooring materials using rollers, hand trowels, and specialty tools.
- Perform occasional wall applications using similar materials applied vertically.
- Maintain daily job site cleanliness, including disposal of waste and securing tools and materials.
- Comply with all safety requirements, including use of PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, and face shields when required.
Experience
- Prior experience in epoxy, resinous, or specialty flooring installation
- Experience leading crews or acting as a working foreman preferred
- Strong understanding of surface preparation methods and flooring application techniques
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in physically demanding environments
