Description: UNIX Administrator Cache DBA
Job Description:
Team lead architecting, building, and supporting UNIX solutions and acts as a lead DBA using InterSystems Cache. Organizes installation of UNIX servers, prepares plan for technology refresh program of data center infrastructure working with vendors and staff to ensure minimal downtime. Responsible for configuration and management of Cache databases. Works closely with Network Engineers/Admins to ensure compliance with organization's goals and objectives of having an innovative, redundant infrastructure allowing for business continuance and disaster recovery. Must have demonstrated experience in SAN connected servers, Fiber Channel networking and HP-UX or IBM AIX_ Must be knowledgeable in DHCP, DNS and TCP/IP. Must work with network engineers/admins to develop a security plan using virus scanning, firewalls and IDS/IPS_ User support functions include 3rd thru 4th level support, and assistance to end users from all client locations. Responsible for administering backups for servers and monitoring backup jobs to ensure completion, and testing of data restores, storage and replication in a SAN/NAS environment required.

- Plans and supervises the short and long term operation, administration and all other activities of the servers, and software applications assigned.

Assists in maintaining and updating network devices As-Built documentation, testing documentation, and other information, which depicts the physical and logical configuration of the networked devices.

Responds to calls from computer system end users requesting assistance and takes appropriate action; utilizing a variety of tools.

Provides 3rd through 4th level user support and 1st and 2nd level network support in problem escalation process.

Communicates with users in a timely manner to ensure problem resolution and take proactive measures to prevent recurrence.

Implement Cache backup and restoration processes and architecting and supporting DIR planning exercises.

Enters and tracks all trouble calls into problem tracking application.

Participates in long and short term technology planning and provides task management and technical support for special projects

Provides assistance with research and evaluation of proposed hardware and software modifications and upgrades.

Attends classes, seminars, conferences and reviews professional literature to enhance knowledge of trends and developments related to applicable technologies.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of UNIX experience.

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.

Experience working in an Epic environment.

Relational Database Administration Experience.

Previous System Administration Experience.

Minimum of 5 years UNIX administration technical experience in an Enterprise class environment.
Required License/Certifications:
- Epic or InterSystems professional certifications.
