Job Requirements
Responsible for learning and adopting all culinary protocol and technique according to Ichiban’s standards.
· Responsible for operating dish machine and maintaining a clean work space
· Responsible for working in a timely and efficient manner.
· Assists colleagues in the kitchen with prep duties
· Willing to learn and train kitchen skills to advance to culinary department
· Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking using a variety of kitchen equipment.
· Performs shift opening and closing duties as assigned by the manager such as cleaning of dish machine, mopping floors in front and back of house, cleaning kitchen equimpent.
· Maintains clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen, Hibachi cooking areas, kitchen equipment and food storage areas.
· Is knowledgeable about and complies with Tokyo standards on food portioning, cooking methods, recipes, policies and procedures.
· Prepares foods in accordance with the Company’s portions standards and recipe specifications prior to cooking.
· Is knowledgeable about and complies with the standards on food portioning, cooking methods, kitchen recipes, policies and procedures.
· Handles, stores, labels, and rotates foods properly and in accordance with public health safety, state and local laws.
· Uses knives, hand tools, utensils, and equipment to portion, cut, slice, maintain holding temperature, chill, freeze or otherwise produce food.
· Presents a clean and neat appearance and uses a courteous manner with all guests.
· Performs other duties as assigned by a PIC.
· Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
Qualifications Experience and Education:
· Previous kitchen experience in restaurant or hospitality required.
· Previous culinary and chef experiences are a must.
· An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
· Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Shift Flexibility: Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends. Must be able to work overtime as required.
Physical Demands: Must be able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to work under stress, have excellent organizational skills and multi-task throughout shift. Must have a clean, professional appearance with excellent grooming habits. Be able to safely use kitchen utensils and appliances, carry products or equipment occasionally weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
