Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance coverage, and assist with patient intake processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette.
- Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Collect payments, process co-pays, and manage medical billing and collections with accuracy and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies.
- Coordinate with clinical staff regarding patient care plans and appointment details to support seamless clinic operations.
- Manage filing of medical records, handle correspondence, and perform clerical tasks such as data entry with proficiency in Microsoft Office and 10-key typing.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred, especially in front desk or administrative roles within clinics or hospitals.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance procedures including verification, billing, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, Medicare processes, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, Epic, Athenahealth or similar platforms.
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with experience managing medical records, documentation review, filing, and office management tasks.
- Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications along with familiarity in electronic health records management tools like eClinicalWorks or Care plans.
- Strong attention to detail in medical administrative support functions such as intake processing and insurance verification.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
