Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages while providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced café environment. Your expertise in coffee preparation and your ability to connect with customers will help foster a welcoming atmosphere.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate the Aloha POS or Micros POS systems efficiently for order processing and payment transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and customer seating areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and sales transactions accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or strong knowledge of coffee preparation is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and food handling practices within the food industry is essential.
