Overview
Civitas Facility & General Services LLC is seeking dependable, detail-oriented, and professional Cleaners / Housekeepers to provide residential and commercial cleaning services throughout Northern Virginia.
The position includes cleaning homes, apartments, offices, commercial spaces, rental properties, and post-construction sites. Cleaners must follow Civitas cleaning checklists, safety procedures, client instructions, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate is punctual, respectful, physically capable of performing cleaning duties, and able to work independently or as part of a team. This is a part-time/on-call position with the opportunity for additional hours or full-time work based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform standard and deep cleaning of residential and commercial properties.
- Dust and wipe furniture, fixtures, windowsills, doors, and other surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, stairs, and upholstered areas.
- Sweep, mop, and clean hard-surface floors.
- Clean and disinfect kitchens, bathrooms, restrooms, and breakrooms.
- Clean sinks, counters, mirrors, toilets, showers, tubs, and appliance exteriors.
- Empty trash and replace trash bags.
- Complete move-in/move-out and apartment-turnover cleaning.
- Support post-construction final cleaning, including dust and light-debris removal.
- Clean interior windows and selected exterior areas when assigned and safe to do so.
- Organize cleaning supplies and report low inventory or damaged equipment.
- Follow product labels, chemical-safety instructions, and PPE requirements.
- Use cleaning tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Protect client property, privacy, keys, alarm codes, and access information.
- Complete assigned cleaning checklists and report unfinished work.
- Report damages, safety concerns, missing items, or unusual conditions immediately.
- Take before-and-after photos when required and authorized.
- Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Return client keys, equipment, and supplies as instructed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in residential cleaning, commercial cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial work, hospitality, or facility services is preferred.
- Experience with deep cleaning, move-in/move-out cleaning, apartment turnover, floor care, or post-construction cleaning is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks within the assigned time.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, honest, and professional.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good customer-service and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn Civitas cleaning methods and quality standards.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Willingness to complete a background check when required for client assignments.
- Reliable transportation to job sites is strongly preferred.
- Smartphone access for schedules, messages, checklists, and authorized photos is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Applicants should be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, kneel, reach, and use stairs.
- Lift and carry cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Lift approximately 25–40 pounds when required.
- Perform repetitive cleaning activities safely.
- Work around common cleaning products while following safety requirements.

Assignments may include:
- Weekday daytime work
