Housekeeping Executive – Job Description

Reports To: General Manager / Assistant General Manager
Job Summary
The Housekeeping Executive is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation. This role plays a critical part in the overall guest experience by ensuring the property exceeds cleanliness expectations and contributes to guest satisfaction, loyalty, and repeat visits.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Housekeeping Executive supports hotel revenue and guest retention by identifying guest needs, coordinating personalized service touches, and coaching the housekeeping team to consistently deliver a “wow” experience.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Operations & Oversight
- Supervise daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house spaces
- Schedule, train, and mentor housekeeping staff including Room Attendants, Housemen, and Laundry Personnel
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities and coordinate timely replenishment
- Conduct daily/hourly inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure adherence to brand and company standards
- Implement and enforce safety, sanitation, and compliance standards across all housekeeping operations
Guest Interaction & Satisfaction
- Respond promptly to guest complaints, special requests, or feedback related to housekeeping
- Ensure staff deliver personalized touches, such as arranging extra amenities, honoring preferences, or preparing rooms for VIPs
- Coordinate with front desk and other departments to address guest needs and enhance overall satisfaction
Sales Awareness & Revenue Support
- Support upselling initiatives by preparing rooms for upgrades and communicating readiness to the front desk
- Identify potential extended-stay or repeat guests and share insights with management
- Maintain consistent presentation and quality to drive positive guest reviews and repeat business
Team Leadership & Communication
- Foster a motivated, guest-focused housekeeping team through coaching and recognition
- Communicate effectively with management and other departments to ensure seamless operations
- Assist with onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of housekeeping staff
- Support special projects or operational initiatives as assigned
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping reports, including occupancy, room readiness, and operational efficiency metrics
- Maintain organized housekeeping documentation and records
- Track staff performance and recommend improvements to management

Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in hospitality management preferred
Experience:
- Previous housekeeping or hotel operations management experience (3–5 years preferred)
- Experience supervising teams, training staff, and conducting inspections
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 40–50 pounds
- Ability to navigate stairs, corridors, and back-of-house areas
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
