Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items following standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper sanitation of work surfaces and utensils
- Assist with menu planning to ensure a diverse and balanced selection of meals that meet dietary requirements
- Handle food safely by adhering to food handling protocols and safety standards in production
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality and presentation standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or food industry settings
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is preferred
- Strong knife skills with slicing techniques and proficiency in recipe adherence
- Familiarity with food safety management and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and team members
- Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is advantageous
- Demonstrated commitment to cleanliness, food handling procedures, and safety standards
