Job Description
JENNMAR Services, a staffing company specializing in employee placement for the energy industry, is currently seeking a Drafting Engineer for West Elk Mine in Somerset, Colorado. This is a full-time position offering competitive salary and benefits.
Basic Job Duties for Drafting Engineer:
· Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
· Work closely with engineers and production and maintenance superintendents to develop accurate technical drawings that meet project specifications.
· Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and technical data to prepare detailed drawings.
· Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and engineering requirements.
· Maintain drawing files, revision history, and project documentation.
· Identify potential design or operational issues and collaborate with the engineering team to develop practical solutions.
· Calculate material dimensions, quantities, weight limitations, and other project requirements.
· Provide drafting and technical support during manufacturing, construction, and installation phases.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements for Drafting Engineer:
· Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
· Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other industry-standard CAD software.
· Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical drawing standards.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Solid mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Experience in mining, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environments is preferred.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Physical Requirements for Drafting Engineer:
· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
· Ability to use a computer and CAD software for prolonged periods.
· Ability to occasionally walk through industrial and mining environments.
· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on-site.
· Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Schedule:
· Full-Time
· Monday through Friday (schedule may vary based on operational needs)
Compensation for the Drafting Engineer:
· $69,550 – $104,320 annually
· Salaried Non-Exempt (EX 06)
