We are looking for an experienced Master Technician who is strong in diagnostics and takes pride in fixing vehicles correctly the first time.
This is not a position for someone who simply replaces parts based on codes.
We need a technician who can diagnose problems, follow a testing process, document findings, perform quality repairs, and verify the repair before the vehicle leaves the shop.
Why Work at Comtires?
Monday through Friday schedule — no weekends.
We are an established independent automotive repair and tire shop in Ontario, California. We work on a wide variety of vehicles and provide general repair, diagnostics, maintenance, tires, alignments, and more.
Our goal is to give strong technicians the environment and workflow they need to be productive without sacrificing quality.
We use digital inspections, professional diagnostic equipment, and modern shop equipment.
What We're Looking For
The right technician should be comfortable with:
- Advanced automotive diagnostics
- Check-engine lights and drivability concerns
- Starting and charging systems
- Cooling system diagnosis and repair
- A/C diagnosis and repair
- Steering and suspension
- Brake systems
- Engine mechanical diagnosis
- Timing and internal engine repairs
- General mechanical repair
- Using scan tools, wiring diagrams, service information, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment
- Performing complete vehicle inspections
- Documenting diagnostic testing and findings
- Test-driving and verifying repairs
You do not need to know everything.
You do need to know how to approach a problem logically, use service information, test before replacing parts, and communicate when additional help or information is needed.
Quality Matters
We care about production, but we care just as much about doing the job correctly.
A strong technician at Comtires:
- Does not guess at diagnoses
- Does not recommend parts without testing
- Does not give up immediately when a diagnostic becomes difficult
- Properly torques and verifies completed repairs
- Keeps hardware and components organized
- Performs a final quality-control check
- Road-tests vehicles when appropriate
- Documents findings clearly
- Takes ownership of their work
- Understands that preventing comebacks is part of being a professional technician
We would rather have a technician correctly diagnose a difficult vehicle than rush through it and create a comeback.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong professional automotive repair experience
- A-Level diagnostic and mechanical ability
- Ability to diagnose vehicles independently
- Strong electrical and drivability diagnostic skills
- Ability to use professional scan tools and service information
- Ability to perform accurate digital vehicle inspections

- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work Monday through Friday
Preferred:
- 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
- ASE certifications
- ASE Master Technician certification
- Advanced electrical/diagnostic experience
ASE certification is valuable, but demonstrated diagnostic ability and workmanship are more important to us than certificates alone.

No Sundays
Benefits
- Guaranteed weekly compensation
- Production-based earning opportunity
- 40 hours paid sick time
