Excelling Horizons Group Homes is seeking caring, dependable individuals to join our team as Direct Care Staff — providing support to adults with developmental disabilities in a safe, respectful, and uplifting environment.
No CNA license required — but CNAs are encouraged to apply!
Position Summary
Direct Care Staff work alongside experienced Direct Support Professionals to assist residents with daily living skills, personal goals, and community engagement. You’ll help create a positive home atmosphere where dignity, respect, and safety always come first.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.
- Assist with personal care, daily living skills, meals, and recreational activities.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation throughout your shift.
- Promote open communication and teamwork with other staff.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and ongoing professional development.
- Advocate for residents’ rights and overall well-being.
- Ensure the home environment remains safe, clean, and compliant.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, elderly, or children — or in a healthcare, caregiving, or behavioral setting.
(College coursework may substitute for experience — 30 credit hours = 1 year.)
- Must pass a Level II background screening.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and speak English.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to perform First Aid, CPR, and assist with physical transfers if needed.
- Work environment typically moderate in noise and activity level.
Schedule Options
- 8-hour shifts
- Day, evening, night, and weekend availability
- Overtime and holiday shifts may be available
