We are seeking an outgoing, friendly, professional, and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our team at our Waikīkī shop opening July 2026. The Sales Associate will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding customer service, driving sales, and showcasing our locally made chocolates to ensure an exceptional chocolate experience for our customers.
The ideal candidate will embody our company values and be able to convey them enthusiastically to customers while guiding them through a memorable chocolate experience. This position requires flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers, educate them, and guide them through sampling our Hawaiʻi-grown and Hawaiʻi-made chocolate.
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently, processing transactions and handling cash or card payments.
- Maintain a clean and organized retail environment, ensuring shelves are stocked, products are neatly displayed, and the store appearance is tidy and inviting.
- Provide customers with information about our chocolate products, including ingredients, flavor profiles, and any special promotions or events.
- Promote awareness of our chocolate factory tours.
- Collaborate with team members to meet and exceed sales goals while contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with team members via Slack regarding inventory levels and shop status.
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop, including sweeping and mopping floors, washing dishes, dusting shelves and products, watering plants, and other daily tasks.
- Open and close the register and take responsibility for accurate cash counts.
- Assist with occasional special events, tastings, and community activations.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Prior retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating positive, memorable experiences.
- Knowledge of or interest in chocolate, food, hospitality, or gourmet products is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Smartphone required for company communication.
