Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, professional and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist/Office Assistant to join our vascular access team. Our practice is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate patient care for individuals dealing with CKD and ESRD.
The Front Desk Medical Assistant serves as one of the first points of contact for our patients, while also assisting with clinical support as needed. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with patients, thrives in a fast-paced office, and has exceptional organization skills.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy
- Check patients in and out
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Verify insurance and obtain referrals/authorizations as needed
- Collect copays and outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system
- Coordinate with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow
Medical Assistant Duties
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness
- Assist physician during minor office procedures when needed
- Perform basic clinical tasks within scope of practice
- Follow infection protocol and patient confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications and Benefits
- Previous medical office or healthcare experience
- Medical Assistant certification (preferred but not required)
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
