American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring an active AK RN license and prior OB experience.
-
NICU/Neonatal ICU unit within a hospital setting
-
Cares for patients ranging from birth through elderly
-
Rotating day and night shift schedule
-
13-week assignment
-
32 guaranteed hours per week
-
Works alongside unit secretaries and OB techs under charge nurse collaboration
-
Active AK RN license required
-
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
-
1-2 years of recent OB experience preferred
-
Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
-
Current BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications required
-
National Certification in Obstetrics preferred
-
Knowledge of AWHONN standards required
-
Experience with Fetal Monitor and Datascope equipment
-
Must document competencies including IV/central line care, fall precautions, age-specific competencies, abuse/neglect recognition, pain management, blood transfusions, and infant abduction protocols

Must pass a medication calculation math test for adults and pediatrics upon arrival

DOB and SSN required for consideration

Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to achieve quality, cost-effective patient outcomes

Apply age-specific and culturally sensitive considerations when providing patient care
-
Serve as a resource person as needed on the unit
-
Orientation is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
-
Hospital housing is provided in a remote area, featuring shared units with private bedrooms and common spaces (male or female units only, no dogs allowed)

Flight reimbursement is available for economy-level travel to and from the assignment
-
Facility will assist with airport pickup upon arrival but not for return travel
