Ophthalmic Technician – Full Time

Eye Care Associates of New Jersey is a premier cataract and cornea ophthalmology practice in Bergen County. We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in a fast-paced, high-end clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Work up 13–15 patients per day
- Perform comprehensive ophthalmic testing, including:
- Visual acuity, auto-refraction, BAT, visual fields, OCT, corneal topography, specular microscopy, manifest refraction, tonometry, A-scan, pachymetry
- Obtain patient histories and provide patient education
- Assist physicians with minor procedures (cross-linking, corneal cultures, oculoplastics, lasers)
- Provide scribing support and assist with unassigned testing
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain equipment and supplies
- Complete EMR documentation, referrals, prescriptions, and pre-surgical paperwork
- Maintain OSHA compliance and professional clinical standards
Qualifications
- High School diploma required; college degree preferred
- COA certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years ophthalmic or medical practice experience
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic testing and EMR systems- Nextech ICP a plus
- Professional, patient-focused demeanor with strong communication skills
