Position Overview
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania is seeking a forward-thinking IT Systems Analyst and Programmer to play a pivotal role in our technology strategy, security, and modernization efforts. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive support for court operations while spearheading the adoption of AI and automation to enhance our workflows.
We are looking for a hands‑on technical professional who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating with a small IT team, and building tools that improve judicial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Modernization — Design, program, and implement automation and AI‑driven enhancements for court workflows.
- Systems Administration — Manage workstation and server environments, network configurations, and security protocols (patching, vulnerability assessments, firewall administration).
- Operational Support — Provide technical support for hardware, software, courtroom technology, and A/V systems.
- Development — Create and maintain scripts for data extraction, system integration, and software customization (Python, PowerShell, SQL, etc.).
- User Support — Develop documentation, training materials, and communication strategies for end‑users and IT staff.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum two years of progressively responsible IT experience.
- Proficiency with iOS/Windows administration in a networked environment.
- Demonstrated programming experience (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, SQL) and familiarity with REST APIs.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Experience implementing AI, machine learning, or automation solutions.
- Certifications such as CISSP, PMP, ITIL, or equivalent.
- Experience with Windows Server (2022+), Active Directory/Group Policy, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, VMware, Cisco hardware, Qualys, or Ivanti.
- Experience in a federal court environment (CM/ECF familiarity is a plus).
