Job Title: Registered Nurse – Mother Baby Unit
Location: Neptune, NJ
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Schedule:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3x12)
OR
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Weekly
Compensation: $2,100 – $2,600 Weekly (based on experience and eligibility)
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Mother Baby/Postpartum Unit, providing compassionate, evidence-based care to postpartum mothers and newborns. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills in maternal-child health and demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while supporting patients and families during the postpartum recovery period.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns.
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor maternal and newborn health status, identifying and responding to changes in condition.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding postpartum recovery, newborn care, feeding, safety, and discharge planning.
- Document patient care accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support a safe and positive environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or Multistate Compact RN License required.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification required.
- Current ACLS Certification required.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required.
- Minimum three (3) years of recent Mother Baby/Postpartum nursing experience required.
- Five (5) or more years of Mother Baby experience preferred.
- Experience in Labor & Delivery required.
- Experience with Postpartum and Antepartum patient populations required.
- Operating Room (OR) experience within women's services preferred or required based on department needs.
- Strong newborn care experience required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of postpartum and newborn nursing care.
- Strong maternal-child assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to recognize and respond to maternal and neonatal complications.
- Excellent patient education and family-centered care skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to evidence-based nursing practice and quality patient outcomes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
