Overview
Minimum 3 years experience. We are seeking an a diesel mechanic that can perform Preventative maintenance on a fleet of late model Peterbilt's. Experience required in doing PM's, brakes and tire repairs on trucks and trailers. You will need experience in all phases including using a computer to diagnose fault codes. This is a preventative maintenance shop, but you must have prior experience in big truck PM's
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections on all components of large diesel truck
- Perform routine maintenance on heavy trucks to ensure optimal performance.
- Ability to perform light repairs to suspensions, brakes, cooling systems and electrical components including lights, warning sensors and fault codes.
- Inspect vehicles for safety and compliance with regulations, making necessary adjustments or repairs
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle or piece of equipment with the use of a maintenance software program.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy duty trucks specifically with diesel engines.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Experience working at a dealership with KW or Peterbilt
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to transmit technical information clearly.
- Proficient in diagnostics of truck computers and DEF units
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- A valid driver's license is required; CDL is a plus
- Welding experience would be a big positive
- Must be able to pass a drug test
