Pony Bird is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our team in Herculaneum iin our Day Program, to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities.

What does a Direct Support Professional do?

Support individuals to reach their full life potential
-
Maintain quality of life with dignity and respect
-
Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) and provide total care supports
-
Encourage independence to the individual's capacity
-
Serve as a positive role model to promote appropriate adult behavior
-
Provide accurate documentation
-
Adhere and implement Individual Support Plans
-
Assure a safe, clean environment upholding accreditation standards and regulations
-
Team-player who can also work independently
-
Maintain attendance according to the policy of the agency and position
Schedule and Work Location:
-
Monday - Friday, approximately 8:00am - 4:00pm flexible schedule

Qualifications:
-
High School diploma or GED
-
Minimum of 21 years of age
-
Valid driver's license in good standing
-
Interpersonal communication skills
-
Ability to follow oral and written directions and problem solve
-
Ability to evacuate individuals served in the event of a fire, natural disaster, or another emergency
-
Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention techniques, paid training provided.

Light computer skills to include data entry and word processing
-
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
-
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Ability to be flexible to provide the needs of the individuals served
