Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Tow Truck Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the efficient dispatching of tow trucks and roadside assistance services. Duties
- Receive and prioritize incoming service requests via multi-line phone systems, online platforms, and radio communications.
- Use GPS tools to locate vehicles, optimize routes, and assign the closest available tow trucks for quick response.
- Coordinate with drivers using transportation management systems such as Towbooks to track job progress and update statuses in real-time.
- Maintain accurate data entry for dispatch logs, freight details, shipping & receiving records, and incident reports.Process invoices in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding estimated arrival times, service procedures, and safety instructions while practicing professional phone etiquette.
- Monitor fleet management systems to ensure proper vehicle utilization, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with logistics teams and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers to streamline operations within supply chain frameworks related to towing services.
Requirements
- Proven experience with dispatching in transportation or logistics environments, particularly involving tow trucks or roadside assistance.
- Strong knowledge of GPS technology, and transportation management systems such as Towbooks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for route optimization, fleet management, and problem-solving under pressure.
- Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy..
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes within a supply chain context is a plus.
- Ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to safety protocols.
