The Environmental Health and Safety faculty offer: a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), a dual BS/MS program, and four graduate certificate programs within the Department of Public and Environmental Wellness (PEW). Guided by the mission of “Pursuing society’s big health challenges,” the department is dedicated to transforming students into leaders, connecting theory to best practices, and addressing the health needs of diverse communities.
Our EHS program focuses on translating knowledge and theory into best practices for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating hazards that pose risks to people, property, and the environment. While our degree and certificate programs are fully available online, we also provide access to well-equipped physical laboratories that enhance hands-on learning and research.
Faculty in the EHS program bring expertise in areas including:
-
Environmental standards and controls
- Industrial hygiene
- Industrial and robotics safety
- Electrical systems safety
- Construction safety
- Safety systems management
- Fire safety
- Biomechanics and ergonomics
- EHS program leadership and development
All within the broader context of public health and wellness.
