Position Overview
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading all environmental, health, and safety initiatives within SEMCORP Manufacturing USA, LLC. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while developing and implementing programs that promote a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence. The EHS Manager will work collaboratively with site leadership, engineering, and production teams to ensure the safety of all employees and minimize the environmental impact of manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance
· Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and local environmental regulations.
· Manage environmental permits, including air emissions, water discharge, and waste management.
· Maintain accurate records and prepare required environmental reports for government agencies.
· Implement sustainable practices to reduce waste, emissions, and energy consumption.
· Lead environmental audits and corrective action programs.
Health & Safety Management
· Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs and policies.
· Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), and hazard identification processes.
· Oversee safety training programs, emergency response drills, and PPE compliance.
· Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near-misses; recommend corrective actions.
· Serve as a resource for leadership and employees on EHS issues, ensuring proactive engagement.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
· Foster a culture of accountability, awareness, and continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
· Collaborate with site leadership to integrate EHS objectives into daily operations and strategic goals.
· Track and analyze EHS performance metrics and develop action plans for improvement.
· Lead site EHS committees and coordinate with corporate EHS leadership on initiatives and reporting.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field or a combination of education and work experience (Master’s preferred).
· Minimum 7+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably chemical, advanced materials, or battery component production.
· Demonstrated experience managing regulatory compliance programs and EHS audits.
· Prior experience in ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 systems preferred.
Certifications
· CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) preferred.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to train and motivate employees at all levels.
· Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a data-driven approach.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
Working Conditions
On-site position at SEMCORP Manufacturing USA, LLC facility.
Regular exposure to manufacturing environments requiring use of PPE.
Some travel may be required between company sites and for regulatory meetings or audits.
