We're hiring 2-3 Drum Teachers to join our growing team immediately.
We're looking for passionate drummers who believe that learning drums is about much more than keeping time—it's about developing musicianship, creativity, confidence, and the ability to play with others.
At Meta Music, we don't teach students to simply memorize songs. We teach Music with a capital "M." Our students learn the language of music so they can confidently perform, improvise, collaborate, record, and create music for life. We prioritize teaching music by ear, not through sheet music.
If you're an active drummer who loves inspiring students and thrives in a collaborative, performance-driven environment, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging, personalized drum lessons tailored to each student's goals, interests, and learning style.
- Teach proper technique, coordination, groove, timing, reading, ear training, improvisation, and musicality.
- Help students develop strong rhythm and understand how drums fit into a full band setting.
- Teach Music with a capital "M"—helping students understand rhythm, musicianship, and musical communication instead of relying on rote memorization.
- Introduce students to a variety of musical styles including rock, pop, funk, jazz, blues, Latin, gospel, and contemporary music.
- Guide students through recording projects and performance opportunities rather than relying solely on traditional method books.
- Lead student bands, group classes, workshops, and impromptu jam sessions.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors during rehearsals, performances, and studio events.
- Show up prepared, on time, and ready to create an exceptional learning experience.
- Send concise but detailed lesson notes after every lesson while maintaining accurate attendance and student progress records.
- Communicate proactively and professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and studio leadership.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming drum studio.
Who You Are
- An experienced drummer with advanced proficiency on the drum set.
- Comfortable teaching beginners through advanced students of all ages.
- Confident demonstrating grooves, fills, rudiments, coordination exercises, improvisation, and performance techniques.
- A confident communicator who enjoys building strong relationships with students and families.
- An active performer, touring musician, recording drummer, worship drummer, educator, or working professional.
- Passionate about helping students become complete musicians—not just drummers.
- Excited to collaborate with other instructors and contribute to a creative teaching culture.
- Reliable, organized, and committed to providing an exceptional student experience.
We'd Love It If You Also Have
- Experience teaching percussion (hand percussion, marching percussion, mallets, auxiliary percussion)
- Experience with music production or recording drums
- Ability to teach another instrument (guitar, bass, piano, voice, etc.)
- Band directing or ensemble coaching experience
- Hospitality or restaurant experience (our strongest teachers often have backgrounds in customer service)
- Theatre or live production experience (a plus)
Teaching Experience
Teaching experience is not required.
We're looking for musicians who demonstrate:
- Passion for music
- Coachability
- Strong communication skills
- Curiosity and continuous learning
- Reliability and professionalism
- A genuine desire to help students grow
If you're willing to learn, we'll provide the coaching and support to help you become an outstanding educator.
Preferred Schedule

Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability preferred.
