Job Overview
Health Care Unlimited (HCU) is seeking a customer‑focused and highly organized IT Support Specialist to provide daily technical support across multiple office locations. This role serves as the first point of contact for employee technology issues and is responsible for workstation setup, troubleshooting, onboarding/offboarding support, and maintaining accurate technology inventory. The specialist will collaborate closely with HCU’s outsourced Managed Service Provider (MSP) to escalate network, server, cybersecurity, and infrastructure issues. Ideal candidates enjoy helping people, take ownership of problems, and have strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
Duties
End User Support
- Serve as the primary contact for employee technology support requests
- Troubleshoot Microsoft Windows desktops/laptops
- Assist with password resets, Microsoft 365 login issues, Outlook troubleshooting, email configuration, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, printer/scanner connectivity, phone/mobile setup, RingCentral, VPN, and application access
- Document and resolve support tickets promptly
Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
- Create user accounts and coordinate Microsoft 365 licensing
- Issue computers, mobile devices, and access cards
- Set up workstations and configure Outlook/email
- Track and assign equipment
- Recover company assets and disable accounts in coordination with the MSP
Workstation & Break‑Fix Support
- Perform first‑level hardware diagnostics
- Support printers, scanners, monitors, and peripherals
- Replace hard drives when appropriate
- Image and deploy Windows devices
- Complete computer replacements, migrations, and redeployments
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity
- Escalate server/firewall issues to MSP
Technology Asset Management
- Maintain accurate inventory of all technology equipment and software licenses
- Track employee equipment assignments and warranty information
- Manage spare inventory and coordinate repairs/replacements
- Tag and document all technology assets
Auditing & Documentation
- Conduct quarterly inventory audits
- Verify employee equipment assignments
- Maintain workstation configuration documentation
- Update inventory after transfers/terminations
- Support HIPAA documentation and audit requests
Vendor Coordination
- Open and track MSP support tickets
- Coordinate onsite service visits
- Escalate infrastructure issues and verify completed work
- Maintain ongoing vendor communication
- Troubleshoot Microsoft Windows desktops/laptops
- Assist with password resets, Microsoft 365 login issues, Outlook troubleshooting, email configuration, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, printer/scanner connectivity, phone/mobile setup, RingCentral, VPN, and application access
- Document and resolve support tickets promptly
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in IT or equivalent experience preferred
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare or HIPAA‑regulated environments
- Experience supporting multiple office locations
- Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Experience with asset management software
- CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certifications
- 2–5 years of IT support or help desk experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Microsoft Office, basic networking, printers, and scanners
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast‑paced environment
