Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression for all visitors.
- Schedule appointments efficiently, accommodating urgent cases and routine visits with flexibility.
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating medical histories and treatment notes using veterinary software systems.
- Handle medical billing and collections with transparency, ensuring all payments are processed correctly.
- Communicate clearly with clients about pet care instructions, upcoming appointments, and follow-up needs.
- Support veterinary staff by preparing examination rooms, sterilizing equipment using aseptic techniques, and assisting with laboratory sample processing when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and equipment is functional.
- Demonstrate knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal restraint techniques, and basic animal handling to assist in daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to animal handling, critical care procedures, and laboratory practices.
Experience
Candidates should possess prior experience in a veterinary or animal care setting, demonstrating familiarity with medical collections, laboratory procedures, and animal handling techniques. Knowledge of the usual flow of a general veterinary practice will set candidates apart. Experience working with diverse animals—including dogs and cats—along with proficiency in veterinary terminology is preferred. Strong communication skills in explaining procedures or instructions to pet owners are essential for success in this role.
