The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Kitchen Manager & Chef and Prep & Ordering Lead in the daily operation of the kitchen. This position provides leadership during service, supervises line cooks, ensures consistency in food quality, maintains food safety standards, and assists with training and kitchen organization. The Kitchen Supervisor leads by example while fostering a positive, efficient, and professional work environment.
This position reports to our Kitchen Manager + Chef and plays a vital role in maintaining the heartbeat of our Taproom’s beer, food and hospitality culture.
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership

Act as the shift leader when the Executive Chef or Lead Chef is unavailable.

Supervise and support line cooks and prep staff during service.

Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion.

Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Coach employees on proper cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.
Food Preparation & Quality

Ensure all menu items are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.

Monitor food quality, consistency, portion control, and ticket times.

Assist with menu execution and daily specials.
Kitchen Operations

Open and close the kitchen according to established procedures.

Coordinate production schedules to ensure adequate prep levels.

Maintain clean and organized workstations.

Ensure proper labeling, dating, rotation (FIFO), and storage of all products.

Communicate effectively between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.

Report low inventory levels and ordering needs to management.

Help maintain food cost goals through proper portioning and waste reduction.

You’re available on weekends and open to working holidays, and nights, as part of your regular schedule

You can handle the physical demands: lifting 50+ pounds, working in a hot kitchen, and being on your feet for extended periods

Experience in a kitchen, prep station, or dish pit is a bonus — but we’re also excited to train the right person
