Every plate that leaves our kitchen, every guest who walks through our door, every standard we hold ourselves to — it's all done in her honor. We don't cut corners. We don't coast. We're looking for an experienced kitchen professional who's ready to show up at that level every day.
WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE
You'll work opening or mid shifts within our 6am–2pm window, executing our breakfast and lunch menu with precision and consistency. We make things from scratch — biscuits, smash burgers, ranch, jalapeño jam — and we take pride in every one of them.
This isn't a role where you clock in and check out. We want people who notice when something's off, speak up when they have a better idea, and take ownership of their station like it's their own.
Responsibilities include:
- Executing menu items to our quality and presentation standards, every time
- Maintaining a clean, organized, health-code-compliant kitchen
- Collaborating with both kitchen and front-of-house teams for seamless service
- Contributing ideas for specials and menu improvements — we genuinely want your input
- Upholding the standards and culture that make Hay Jay what it is
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Prior kitchen experience required — line cook, prep, or similar
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
- Ability to perform consistently in a fast-paced environment
- A team-first attitude — ego doesn't belong in our kitchen
- Someone who wants to be part of something that actually means something
