ACME Therapies Co. is looking for a dynamic, creative and committed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our interdisciplinary therapy team comprised of speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists at our Martinsville location. Position entails a flexible work schedule, providing individual services to children ages birth to 21 years of age with varying disabilities.
Job duties include assisting with assessments, assisting with treatment planning, collaborating with team members, providing parent education/training, and providing direct 1:1 treatment. Desirable candidates must have a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well as part of a team, strong written and verbal communication skills and previous pediatric treatment experience. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for the treatment of patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. PTA must document and record the patient’s condition and educate patients and families in appropriate therapy methods. The PTA collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including OTs, SLPs, and teachers.
Qualifications
Must have graduated from an accredited school
Current Virginia license as a Physical Therapist Assistant or proactively in the process of the application process for current state licensure as a PTA
Current CPR Certification
Valid driver’s license
Experience in pediatric physical therapy
Minimum Requirements
Virginia PTA certification (or certification eligible)
Must have graduated from an accredited PTA school
