The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for A-Repairman-Recovery. This position entails vehicle recovery work for the Maryland Transit Administration. Employees in this position are responsible for on-location diagnosis and repair of MTA equipment that has been determined by radio dispatch as immobile while in revenue service. The employee is responsible for the operation of special towing equipment and is required to respond to disabled vehicles to diagnose and repair, or, if necessary, remove disabled vehicles from obstructing traffic flow and/or tow disabled vehicles to designated MTA properties or other designated facilities. The employee is also required, when assigned or under the direction of police supervision, to take appropriate action to resume regular traffic flow. Employees in this position receive supervision from a designated official. Employees in this position are considered Essential Employees. On some assignments, employees may be required to lift or carry heavy objects or equipment weighing over fifty pounds regularly. Employees must be willing and available for duty on fixed shifts, weekends, and holidays.
