Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Assistant Sales Manager to join our team. In this vital role, you will support the store management team in driving sales, enhancing customer service, and supervising daily operations. Your leadership will inspire staff, optimize retail performance, and ensure a welcoming environment for all members and visitors.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including sales activities, inventory control, and customer service excellence
- Support recruitment efforts by participating in interviewing and employee orientation processes
- Lead and supervise sales associates to meet or exceed sales targets through coaching and training
- Oversee merchandising, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to maximize store profitability
- Handle cash handling, POS transactions, payroll processing, and bookkeeping tasks accurately
- Implement marketing initiatives to attract new members and retain existing ones
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and store procedures while fostering a positive team environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales management or assistant management roles within a grocery store or similar retail setting
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and provide constructive feedback
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases
- Proficiency in retail math, inventory management, POS systems, and cash handling procedures
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks
- Knowledge of marketing strategies, merchandising, and retail math concepts is highly desirable
- Experience with employee training & development, budgeting, and payroll processes
