Construction Superintendent – Residential Custom Homes

About the Role
Benchmark Custom Homebuilders is growing and seeking an experienced, reliable, and honest Construction Superintendent to oversee our residential custom home builds and keep projects on schedule in a timely and cost‑effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct construction projects from start to completion
- Schedule and manage subcontractors to maintain timelines
- Coordinate all on-site activities to ensure plans, specifications, and selections are followed
- Maintain clean, organized, and job-ready worksites at all times
- Supervise in-house labor to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Order materials in a timely manner to avoid delays
- Track daily progress and report updates to the Construction Manager and Buildertrend
- Proactively identify, prevent, and resolve issues
- Communicate plan changes and field updates clearly to trades and team members
- Monitor and maintain company tools, equipment, and inventory (trucks, trailers, skid steer, manlift)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of custom home construction experience (required)
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, and methods
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Familiarity with local building codes and residential construction standards (Kirkwood and surrounding areas)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Buildertrend
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Skilled in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making
- Positive, energetic, and professional attitude
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must have a ½-ton pickup truck and ability to pull/back a trailer
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience operating equipment (skid steer, manlift, trailers)
- Ability to mentor and train junior laborers

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $60,000 – $90,000 (based on experience)
- Profit-sharing opportunities once vested
