Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, dietary guidelines, and menu plans
- Assist in menu planning to ensure variety, nutritional value, and seasonal appropriateness
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Support food service operations by serving meals efficiently and courteously to residents or customers
- Participate in food preparation activities such as chopping, portioning, and plating dishes
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal delivery and high-quality service during busy periods
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or food service settings
- Strong background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in sanitation and hygiene
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience demonstrating ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Familiarity with catering events and serving large groups is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail
