We are seeking an experienced and service-minded leader to join our team as a Child Care Case Management Supervisor.
Position Summary
The Child Care Case Management Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, coaching, and operational support to the Agency's Case Management Department. This team is responsible for determining eligibility, maintaining compliance with California Department of Social Services (CDSS) regulations, conducting family recertifications, and supporting families participating in subsidized child care programs.
The department manages more than 300 active family cases and operates within strict regulatory timelines and audit standards. This role requires a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment while balancing customer service, compliance, and team performance.
This is an on-site position located in Fresno, California. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and support the Case Management team.
- Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings and annual performance evaluations.
- Monitor workflow distribution and caseload assignments.
- Provide coaching and corrective guidance related to processing errors and compliance concerns.
- Participate in recruitment, interviews, onboarding, and training of new team-members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
Program Operations
- Oversee the certification, recertification, and maintenance of family eligibility files.
- Monitor compliance deadlines and ensure timely case processing.
- Conduct monthly file audits to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as operational backup for Case Managers during absences or staffing shortages.
- Assist with complex eligibility determinations and program decisions.
- Review files for internal monitoring and external audits.
- Maintain accurate case information and documentation within agency systems.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with CDSS Funding Terms and Conditions.
- Maintain departmental compliance rates and quality standards.
- Monitor department error trends and implement corrective measures.
- Develop and improve departmental procedures and workflows.
- Support agency readiness for state reviews and monitoring visits.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience In:
- California Alternative Payment Programs (APP)
- Subsidized Child Care Programs
- Child Development Programs
- Family Eligibility Determination
- Public Assistance Programs
- Community-Based Nonprofit Organizations
- Government-funded family assistance programs
- Supervising teams in highly regulated environments
- Compliance monitoring and quality assurance activities
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Sociology, Human Services, Social Work, Public Administration, or a closely related field;
OR
- High school diploma or equivalent AND minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience administering state subsidized child care programs within a nonprofit or public agency environment.
Candidates should possess experience in:
- Seven (7) years in supervising and developing employees.

- Maintaining compliance in government-funded programs.
Experience with California Department of Social Services (CDSS) programs and subsidized child care programs is strongly preferred.

This role supervises a team administering California's subsidized child care programs and supporting families through eligibility determination, recertification, and ongoing program participation.
