We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in implementing speech therapy plans for clients across various settings, including home health environments.
- Support the delivery of speech-language therapy sessions via telehealth platforms when applicable, ensuring continuity of care.
- Conduct assessments and gather data on clients’ speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions under supervision.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including occupational therapists, physical therapists, and medical professionals—to develop comprehensive treatment strategies.
- Support clients with language development, articulation disorders, voice issues, and other speech-language disorders through targeted exercises and activities.
- Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and client communications in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate families and caregivers on strategies to support ongoing communication development at home and during daily routines.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with disabilities in clinical or educational settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to speech-language pathology.
- Familiarity with early intervention programs, IEP (Individualized Education Program) processes, and school-based therapy practices.
- Experience supporting clients with diverse speech-language disorders including language delays, articulation issues, voice disorders, and swallowing difficulties.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care plans.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and family education purposes.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse populations effectively.
- Telehealth therapy experience is desirable to facilitate remote service delivery when needed.
- Knowledge of child language development stages and pediatric therapy techniques is essential.
- Acute care experience or experience working in hospital settings is advantageous but not required.
