American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 1 year of recent Med Surg experience with telemetry skills and an active AZ or compact RN license.

Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital environment
-
Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
13-week assignment length
-
Weekly orientation held every Monday
-
Meditech charting system used, with prior experience preferred but not required
-
Patient ratio of 1:5-6
-
Floating required to other Med Surg units, with potential to float to PCU if skills align
-
Potential for remote telemetry monitoring responsibilities
-
Holiday coverage required
-
Active RN license (AZ or Compact) currently in hand
-
Current BLS certification required
-
ACLS certification required if floating to PCU
-
Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg experience required
-
Telemetry experience required due to potential for remote monitoring duties

Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
-
Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
-
Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and heparin protocols
-
Provide acute care nursing services to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response

Participate in remote telemetry monitoring as needed
-
Manage peripheral IV lines and administer respiratory therapies
-
Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed
-
Travel pairs are accepted
-
Locals and first-time travelers are accepted at the same rate
-
Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers

RTO must be kept as minimal as possible
