Southeastern Security Professionals (SSP) is seeking a Technical Services Technician I to join our Technical Services Department. This is primarily an office-based technical role responsible for programming, configuring, testing, documenting, and supporting commercial electronic security systems before deployment, while also providing remote technical support to field technicians and customers.
The ideal candidate has a background in the commercial low-voltage/security integration industry and is experienced with IP-based security systems, networking, and troubleshooting. This role works closely with Engineering, Project Management, Service, and Field Operations to ensure systems are properly configured, tested, and ready for successful installation.
Primary Responsibilities: Security System Programming & Configuration
Program, configure, test, validate, and prepare commercial electronic security systems prior to deployment, including:
- Video Management Systems (VMS)
- IP Cameras
- Access Control Systems
- Intercom Systems
- Intrusion Detection Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Security Servers & Workstations
- Network Switches
- Other integrated security devices
Additional responsibilities include:
- Verify equipment functionality prior to deployment.
- Maintain accurate records of programmed equipment and system configurations.
- Ensure all equipment meets company quality standards before shipment or installation.
Technical Support
- Provide remote technical support to customers and field technicians.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and integrated security system issues.
- Assist with installation planning, commissioning, and system startup.
- Take ownership of technical issues through resolution while collaborating with Engineering and Service teams.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and recurring solutions.
- Recommend improvements that increase consistency, quality, and operational efficiency.
Internal IT Support
- Provide Help Desk support for internal employees.
- Configure and deploy computers, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.
- Assist with user account administration and basic network support.
Remote Monitoring & Management
- Monitor and maintain systems using the company's Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) platform.
- Document alerts, maintenance activities, and resolutions.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system health checks.
- Recommend improvements to monitoring and automation processes.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in the commercial low-voltage or electronic security integration industry.
- Experience configuring, programming, or supporting commercial electronic security systems, including one or more of the following:
- Video Surveillance
- Access Control
- Intrusion Detection
- Intercom Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including:
- TCP/IP
- IP Addressing
- VLANs
- Managed Switches
- Basic Routing
- Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming enterprise security systems.
- Experience providing remote technical support to field technicians.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and basic network infrastructure.
- Industry certifications are a plus.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
