As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our leadership team as a Senior Associate Attorney.
The Opportunity
This is not an entry-level position.
The successful candidate will step into an established department with experienced hearing representatives, case managers, and support staff already in place. You will have your own litigation caseload while also helping oversee and mentor a team responsible for managing several hundred active workers' compensation matters.
This position offers significant autonomy, leadership opportunities, and the ability to directly influence the growth and success of the department.
Responsibilities
- Manage a personal workers' compensation caseload
- Appear at hearings, conferences, depositions, and trials as necessary
- Develop case strategy and evaluate settlement opportunities
- Supervise and mentor hearing representatives and case managers
- Assist with training, workflow management, and department development
- Review files and provide guidance to support staff and junior attorneys
- Maintain excellent client communication and service standards
- Work directly with firm leadership on operational and litigation strategy
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license and good standing
- Minimum 3 years of California workers' compensation experience
- Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation law and procedure
- Experience handling depositions, hearings, and case resolution
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience supervising staff is preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing hearing representatives or support staff
- Familiarity with MerusCase
- Trial experience
- Spanish language skills
