Presentation Academy is a college preparatory academy for young women and Louisville’s original Catholic school. Founded in 1831 by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Presentation is strategically and conveniently located in downtown Louisville – its biggest classroom. The school serves a diverse student population from more than 35 zip codes in the Kentuckiana area. Presentation is close-knit community of teachers, staff, parents, alumnae and supporters who help prepare Pres girls for living and leading in a global society.
Presentation Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Girls Varsity Head Softball Coach to lead our softball program for the spring season. The ideal candidate will share our commitment to empowering young women and helping them grow both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead all softball practices, conditioning sessions, and team activities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive softball program focused on skill development, teamwork, and competitive excellence
- Instruct athletes in proper softball fundamentals, techniques, strategies, and safety practices
- Prepare the team for regular-season competition and KHSAA postseason play
- Coordinate and oversee all game-day responsibilities, including lineups, strategy, equipment, and team preparation
- Foster leadership, confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship among student-athletes
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environment
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes
- Communicate effectively with athletes, families, school administration, and athletic staff
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director and other coaches to support the overall mission of Presentation Academy Athletics
- Represent the school and softball program with professionalism and integrity
- Maintain compliance with KHSAA and Archdiocese of Louisville policies and requirements
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Previous softball coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or travel level preferred
- Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, strategy, player development, and safety
- Ability to motivate and develop student-athletes both individually and as a team
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for young women
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet KHSAA and Archdiocese of Louisville coaching requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
