Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Seamstress Tailor Sewist Alterations Specialist Fitter to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Perform garment alterations, repairs, and custom fittings with precision and care
- Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to modify clothing items according to customer specifications
- Measure customers accurately to determine necessary adjustments, ensuring optimal fit
- Construct new garments or components based on design specifications when needed
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice on alterations
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order
- Follow safety protocols when operating sewing machines and other equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience in sewing, garment construction, or tailoring within a fashion retail setting
- Proficiency with sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques
- Strong understanding of garment fitting, fabric types, and alteration processes
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for measuring, pattern adjustments, and calculations related to garment modifications
- Knowledge of fashion retail operations is a plus but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work efficiently under deadlines, and pay close attention to detail
