Responsibilities and Duties
This positions primary responsibilites include pulling material and loading outgoing trucks with overhead cranes and forklifts. Monday-Thursday 12:00PM-11:00PM
- Provides excellent customer service:
- Correctly completes applicable paperwork for steel orders.
- Performs work in a safe and productive manner:
- Operates safely and efficiently a variety of equipment, which may include: Overhead cranes, forklifts, CNC plasma table; shear; press brake; band saws; rebar bender; iron worker; and various hand tools.
- Complies with OSHA and branch safety standards for handling, processing, blocking, storing, and stacking product. Complies with all other regulatory requirements including federal, state, local, company and customer rules or statutes.
- Participates in safety meetings and assists other departments as necessary.
- Daily demonstrates commitment to be present and work all hours assigned.
- Cooperates with employees, customers, suppliers and all others with honesty, integrity and respectful manner.
Qualifications and Skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and maximum of 100 pounds occasionally, pushing and pulling up to 80 pounds, gripping, squatting, bending, climbing, standing, walking, reaching, transferring, stacking and loading of steel products.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions with moderate levels of noise.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Driver’s License
Strong customer service skills
Ability to perform math calculations
Good work ethic, with high honesty and integrity.
Preemployment drug testing and random drug testing
Preemployment back ground check
*Forklift and Overhead Crane Experience is a plus!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
