Job Summary
Previous experience as a server or in food service role preferred. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Working knowledge of food safety principles and procedures. Must be able to obtain a food safety certification. Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring special requests are noted.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation.
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Process cash transactions, credit card payments, and handle cash register operations efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of wine pairings, spirits, cocktail recipes, and food safety protocols to assist guests with recommendations.
- Clear tables promptly after guests finish their meals while adhering to sanitation standards.
- Assist with food preparation or bussing as needed to support smooth restaurant operations.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns professionally and courteously.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service flow during busy periods.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability in beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine knowledge, and drink presentation.
- Experience working in fine dining or nightclub settings is a plus.
- Strong skills in time management, multitasking, and prioritization under pressure.
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
