Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with a focus on delivering comprehensive patient care across diverse settings. As a vital member of the rehabilitation team, you will assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, supporting patient recovery, and enhancing overall well-being. This role offers an opportunity to work in dynamic environments such as inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health, and skilled nursing facilities, contributing to improved patient outcomes through expert therapy techniques.
Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and modalities to promote healing and mobility.
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately, adjusting treatment approaches under supervision to optimize recovery.
- Support discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility strategies, and safety precautions for home environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in inpatient, outpatient, or skilled nursing settings.
- Maintain detailed records of patient sessions in accordance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Ensure a safe and clean treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in physiotherapy techniques, physiology knowledge, and medical terminology to enhance patient care quality.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in inpatient or outpatient settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in physiotherapy practices including orthopedic rehabilitation, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care environments.
- Skilled nursing facility experience is advantageous for understanding complex discharge planning and long-term patient management.
- Familiarity with clinic operations related to outpatient therapy services and home health care is desirable.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology fundamentals essential for effective treatment implementation.
- Experience applying trigger point therapy techniques to alleviate muscle pain and improve mobility is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations. Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
