Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician and become a vital part of ensuring optimal climate control and mechanical system performance across commercial and residential properties. Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including heating units, ventilation systems, air conditioning equipment, refrigeration units, boilers, and related mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical components within HVAC systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal operation and energy efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems involving refrigeration cycles, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, electrical systems, and building automation controls.
- Use hand tools and welding equipment to repair or replace damaged parts; perform equipment repair and welding as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of inspections or repairs performed, and ensure compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerant handling.
- Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and recommending maintenance solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes; support property maintenance efforts as required.
Skills
- Proven construction experience combined with service technician expertise in HVAC/R systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues efficiently.
- Experience with HVAC design principles and building automation systems integration.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems related to HVAC applications; knowledge of refrigeration cycles including ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Skilled in using hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other diagnostic tools for equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of electrical diagnostics related to HVAC systems; understanding of electrical systems within mechanical environments is essential.
- Experience working in field service roles with a focus on customer satisfaction; property maintenance experience is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license (including <PERSON> driver if applicable) for transporting tools or equipment between sites safely.
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC design or boiler operation are desirable.
