Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Minister to inspire and guide young people within our faith community. This vibrant role involves fostering spiritual growth, providing mentorship, and creating engaging programs that resonate with youth. The Youth Minister will serve as a positive role model, nurturing the faith journey of adolescents and young adults while promoting a welcoming environment for all participants.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading youth ministry in a Bible-believing church.
Job Description: (15 - 20 hours per week)
1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
2. Must be skilled in dealing with youth
3. The church requires candidates to complete an FBI/BCI background check successfully prior to the start of employment.
4. The applicant is expected to be an active member of Bethel Friends Church or another church.
5. Support and abide by the Mission and Beliefs of the Bethel Friends Church
6. Maintain current certification in 1st Aid/CPR/ AED and Child Protection Training
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Represent Bethel Friends to the community in a positive and Christian manner in attitude, appearance, and language.
2. Pray with, witness to, and/or support persons attending church activities according to the mission and beliefs of Bethel Friends Church.
3. Direct accountability is to the Pastor.
Duties of the Youth Director will include:
1. Oversight of the Youth Sunday School program(s) for grades 6 – 12.
2. Oversight of all youth meeting planning and programming, to include a weekly meeting(s) for both junior and senior high youth.
3. Oversight of all youth events.
4. Oversight of all curriculum/resource selection and purchasing for our youth ministries
5. Oversight of youth ministry promotional mailings, newsletter articles, and student information database.
6. Recruitment/Screening/Training/Supervision of all adult volunteers working with youth.
7. Attend the monthly Ministry Council meetings.
8. The pastor will meet with the youth leader weekly.
