We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, modify, troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and equipment.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our company. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems across our operations. This role is vital in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of industrial machinery and equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to maintenance, and excellent problem-solving skills to support our commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Modify, maintain, troubleshoot plant machinery and equipment, including building and grounds
- Perform immediate repairs properly in the shortest amount of time possible to maintain the highest level of operational readiness
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation of plant machinery
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
- Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting order; verifying receipt
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Understand the morning startup and evening shutdowns of all equipment, building functions.
- Communicate machine and manufacturing issues with management
- Maintains a healthy relationship with outside vendors and contractors
Qualifications:
- Must have strong electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Prior diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience preferred
- Strong communications skills
- Previous experience with extruding, injection molding and brush machines a plus
- Demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to follow manufacturer's specifications and schematics
- Electrical 110 volts, 220 volts, 480v and low voltage knowledge
- Plumbing, Welding, Carpentry knowledge helpful
- Ability to read blueprints
- Basic math skills
- High school or higher-level diploma
- Must be able to stand for long periods at a time during a full shift
- Handling the maintenance task of stooping, pulling, or pushing
- Be able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs. or more
A successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to work with little direct oversight. Pay is negotiable based on work experience and education.
