The Athletics Department is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Student Workers to support a variety of athletic programs, events, and departmental operations. Student Workers play an important role in creating a positive experience for student-athletes, spectators, and campus community members. Opportunities may include assisting with athletic event management, social media and marketing initiatives, photography, intramural programming, facility preparation, office support, and special events.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
Assist with preparation, setup, and breakdown of athletic facilities for practices, competitions, and special events.
Support game-day operations, including event management, crowd engagement, scorekeeping, announcing, and other event-related activities.
Assist with social media content creation, photography, video production, and promotional efforts to enhance the visibility of athletic programs.
Support the management and maintenance of digital platforms, including Hudl and other athletic technology systems.
Assist with planning, promoting, and facilitating intramural sports and recreational activities.
Provide customer service and information to students, staff, athletes, and visitors.
Assist with general office functions, administrative tasks, and departmental projects.
Support special events hosted by the Athletics Department and collaborating campus departments.
Maintain a safe, organized, and professional environment within athletic facilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.The Athletics Department is hiring multiple positions which report to the Athletic Manager.
The positions include:
Marketing and Communication related to social media, photography, and game day announcing. Assisting with the Intramural program, assisting with Game Day event management and set-up, assisting with facilities preparation, office coverage and other special events hosted by Athletics and or supporting departments.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Enrolled in at least 1 credit at Waubonsee Community College.
Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Physical ability to perform light physical tasks related to event setup and facility preparation, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for athletic events and special programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Willingness to learn new skills and take initiative.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Dependable, responsible, and able to follow directions.
Enthusiasm for athletics, recreation, and campus engagement.
