What you will do...
As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a welcoming atmosphere and exceptional customer service.
- Must enjoy working with people; greet guests with a warm and friendly smile and make them feel welcome. Bid guests a farewell as they leave.
- Seat customers at tables, manage seating chart.
- Ensure quality/cleanliness of facilities.
- Monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow.
- Manages in-house and online reservations.
- Accepts payment in the form of cash, checks, and credit or debit cards for purchases as needed.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all menu items.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and provides genuine recommendations guests will enjoy.
- Ability to respond to guest inquiries and concerns in a friendly and courteous manner while providing accurate information and resolving conflict.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, stock work and handling of food items.
- Work with team members to deliver efficient service while simultaneously providing exceptional customer service.
- Processes returns according to policy as needed.
- Bag, box, pour and wrap food items as needed.
- Interact with co-workers in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Good verbal communication skills. Ability to speak and read English is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish) required.
- Ability to speak effectively and courteously with all customers is required.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, scanners, etc.
- Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
- Experience entering orders into a Point-Of-Sales (POS) system and manually is preferred.
- Experience using online reservation and table management systems. Yelp Waitlist Management experience preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of one-year experience working in a restaurant as a Host/Hostess.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A food handler’s certificate as required by local and state regulations.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing/walking and working with POS or other equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Will need to work weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.30 - $18.50 per hour
