Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot CCTV camera systems, including IP-based cameras and analog setups.
- Conduct fiber splicing and network wiring using schematics, CAT5/CAT6 cabling, and Ethernet standards to establish reliable connectivity.
- Perform network installation tasks involving Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, LAN setup, VoIP systems, and telecommunication hardware.
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and RF testers to identify issues within electrical or radio frequency systems.
- Assist with low voltage electrical work involving NEC compliance, AC/DC electrical systems, and power tools for equipment setup or repair.
- Maintain detailed records of system configurations, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service logs for future reference.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating technical solutions clearly and efficiently during on-site visits or remote support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or in a related field involving CCTV installation, network wiring, or telecommunication systems.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN setup, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with fiber splicing techniques, schematics interpretation, and electrical safety standards such as NEC regulations.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools like ohmmeters, RF testers, and other electronic testing equipment.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing devices safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of telephony systems such as Avaya or similar VoIP platforms is desirable.
- Electrical experience with AC/DC systems and low voltage wiring is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly using technical proficiency in computer hardware and telecommunication equipment.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills for engaging clients professionally during installations or repairs.
